When the Apostle Paul writes that we have been blessed, he is reminding the saints in Ephesus that God, in His kindness, has placed upon the followers of Jesus a special favor. This is important because it’s an eternal blessing which would be welcomed by those who live in a city filled with temporary blessings. These blessings are heavenly in their origin and accessible because of Jesus.
