The Power to Love Ourselves
APRIL 26, 2015

Jesus makes a staggering stament in Mark 12. When asked what was the greatest commandment of all, Jesus told His hearers that it was to love God with everything and to love our neighbor as ourselves. That little word "as" means "to the same degree or quality". Our ability to love others, i.e. to create a safe place and a safe home, is dependent upon how well we love ourselves. Loving ourselves is not self absorption, but a means to growing in our maturity in Christ so we can love others with the full, genuine love of God.

The Power to Love God
MAY 3, 2015

John, one of Jesus' disciples, infamously asked Jesus to call down fire from heaven onto the people he didn't like. This man of racism and prejudice would later write passionately about loving God and loving others. Clearly his time with Jesus, a man of love, had a profound impaact on his life. John writes in 1 John 4:19 - "We love because He (God) loved us first." The power to love God comes from our decision to surrender to Jesus and walk in His ability to love others.

The Power to Live Fruitful Lives
MAY 17, 2015

In the beginning it was God's design for us to be fruitful. Sure, God meant for us to have children, the fruit of the womb, but we learn from Jesus in John 15 that God desires the entirety of lives be fruitful. Christ in Us gives us the power to live lives that bless and inspire others.

The Power to Love Holy Spirit
MAY 24, 2015

It's possible to view Holy Spirit as Yoda, Santa Claus or some "power" we plug into. He is none of those things. He is a person and because of Jesus Christ we can have a personal relationship with Holy Spirit. As we develop our fellowship with Holy Spirit we will feel His impact in two areas, our character development (Indwelling Spirit) and development for ministry & leadership (Empowering Spirit).

The Power to Go
MAY 31, 2015

After a busy day of healing people, Jesus instructs His disciples to pray for laborers to be thrust into the harvest field. The Apostle Paul would pick up this them in 2 Corinthians 5 clarifying our message to be one of reconciliation. We may not be called to a foreign frontier, but we are called to cross the street. Christ in Us is the power to go, love others and demonstrate the supernatural power of God.
